How the adults games played out on the almighty club day.
Venus
Whites 33 - Millwall shirts 15
An entertaining game with some enjoyable breakthrough tries and a few bone slapping tackles. Saw the white shirts come away with the win. Good to see some of the former Venus players both on and off the pitch.
Men
England 17 - ROW 33 (38)
I’m very sure the score was 38 to the ROW side but far be it from me to argue with the ref (I read the Essex RFU discipline memo). In the end the “missing” try did not make a difference to the outcome as the Rest of the World claimed another victory.
However, it has to be said the real winner of the day was rugby and Milllwall as all sections of the club turned up in full force, great to see young and old, current and former members grace the park and clubhouse. A big thanks to everyone who showed up, helped out and supported the club in their own way.
As the dust (literally and figuratively – that upper right corner of the pitch was a very dry one) settles on what was an excellent club day we can look forward to the next couple of club events:
